How do you work as a private hire (VTC) driver in Toledo?
There are two routes. Driving one of our cars, employed or self-employed, with no vehicle or authorisation of your own. Or bringing your own car with its VTC authorisation and joining as a partner, collecting each fare yourself. Either way you only work on pre-booked jobs: in Toledo a private hire car cannot be hailed in the street or wait at a rank.

What do you need to start?
A valid driving licence and the paperwork that gets checked before your first job. The regional VTC driver certificate depends on where the service is provided: Castilla-La Mancha does not require it today, the Madrid region does. Since a large share of the work here ends at Barajas or in central Madrid, it is better to know that before you start than after your first pickup.
If you bring your own vehicle, what you need is the VTC authorisation in your name, insurance covering passengers, a valid roadworthiness test and the registration document. Those documents expire, and they go into the expiry watch: the system warns beforehand, and an expired authorisation stops receiving jobs without anyone having to remember.
How does the work arrive, and what is off limits?
Each job reaches your phone with pickup, destination, time and price already agreed with the customer, and you accept it or turn it down. Before setting off, the trip sheet is issued and filed with the Ministry register; that is the document you show if an inspection stops the car mid-journey.
What you cannot do is pick up passengers off the street or wait at a rank, even with an empty car. That is not a house rule: it is Spanish VTC law, and it puts everyone's authorisation at risk. Nor can you run a trip that starts and ends inside the same municipality, which here belongs to taxi licences.
What do you get paid, and when?
Driving one of our cars, you are paid either on a payroll or with a weekly self-billing invoice, and every Monday there is a summary with the jobs, the tips —which go to the driver in full—, the cash you already collected and what is left to pay you. The commission is higher than when you bring your own car, because the vehicle, insurance, fuel and maintenance are ours.
With your own authorisation the customer pays you: the amount lands in your own Stripe Connect account with the published commission —8%— already deducted, and reaches your bank in about 2 days. There is no joining fee and no monthly fee, and no exclusivity: you keep your own customers.
Frequently asked questions
How many jobs will I get?
It depends on the demand in your area and on the hours you cover, which is why no number is promised: whoever promises one on a website cannot keep it. What we do tell you on the call is how many jobs were actually done last month in your town and in your time slot. With that and the simulator on the drivers page, you do the arithmetic yourself.
Can I work nights or weekends only?
Yes, and those are the slots most needed: pre-dawn runs to Barajas and Friday and Saturday nights. Say so in the application form and it is taken into account when work is distributed.
Do I have to be self-employed?
Not necessarily. With one of our cars you can work on a payroll or as a self-employed driver, and both calculations are shown with your own figures before you decide. With your own authorisation you are a business: you invoice, under your own licence.
