Torrijos is in Torrijos y el valle del Alberche. What the area is like and what trips start there

Which way it goes

Toledo province is long and poorly connected from east to west: Talavera to Ocaña is over 150 kilometres with no direct train. The most requested internal trips are from the towns to Toledo city — hospital, high-speed station, public offices — and between the towns of La Sagra, where buses link to Madrid but hardly to each other.

Hospital Universitario de Toledo, seen from Toledo

Toledo University Hospital, in the Santa María de Benquerencia district (the Polígono) on the east side of the city, is the reference hospital for the whole province and concentrates most specialities. It has parking, but it fills up early during clinic hours.

On arrival: Toledo y su alfoz

Toledo city and the towns around it, such as Bargas and Olías del Rey, hold the regional government, the University Hospital, the high-speed station and an old town that is hard to drive into without knowing the access rules. It is the starting point for many AVE connections and the destination for medical appointments from across the province.

Tip: From La Sagra, for flights before nine, pickup is usually between five and six: the A-42 starts filling up early.
