What to see in Toledo and how to get around with a driver

Toledo is seen on foot: the cathedral, the Alcázar, the Jewish quarter with Santa María la Blanca and El Tránsito, Santo Tomé and San Juan de los Reyes are all within a kilometre of each other. The car is for arriving and leaving: from your town or elsewhere in the province to the Bisagra gate or your hotel, and from Toledo to Madrid, Consuegra or the wine route, leaving by the Valle road—the ring across the Tagus from which you see the whole city—with a stop at the viewpoint.

Price from every town in the province on Private hire to Toledo's historic centre.

How far can the car go into the old town?

The old town sits on a hill ringed by the Tagus, with narrow, steep streets and restricted vehicle access. That is why the pick-up point is set when booking: the hotel door when the car can reach it, otherwise the Bisagra gate, the Recaredo escalators or the nearest car park. The driver confirms it before setting off.

What is the Valle road?

It is the ring road that skirts Toledo along the south bank of the Tagus, between the San Martín and Alcántara bridges. From it you see the city face on, with the cathedral and the Alcázar above the river, and the Valle viewpoint is the photo stop. On foot it is a long walk with no shade; by car it fits as the first stop when leaving Toledo for Madrid, Consuegra or the wine route. A trip that starts and ends inside Toledo is urban and we do not offer it: that is what the city taxi is for.
