Leaving from Montes de Toledo

South of the capital, Sonseca, Mora and Los Yébenes live from furniture-making, olive oil and hunting. Toledo is half an hour away and is their reference for the hospital and the high-speed station.

Which way it goes

From the Montes de Toledo the road goes up to Toledo on the N-401 and local roads, and on to Madrid by the A-42 or AP-41; Los Yébenes can also join the A-4 at Madridejos.

There is no direct train from Toledo province to Barajas: you have to change in Madrid, and in the early hours there is no way to do it. For first-thing flights, a car from home is the only option that does not involve sleeping in Madrid.

When demand peaks

• Long weekends and holidays (Easter, summer and Christmas): Transfers to Barajas from La Sagra and Toledo spike at the start and end of holidays, and first-thing flights are the first to fill up.

Tip: For the Toledo AVE, allow a few minutes of queueing to get into the station in the morning peak.

Airport pickup
